Morning Reflection: Autumn Blessings

John 11:14-15 Then said Jesus unto them plainly, Lazarus is dead. [15. And I am glad for your sakes that I was not there, to the intent ye may believe; nevertheless let us go unto him.

Thought for the Day: God Reveals Himself Even In Disappointment

Reflection for the Day: God Has Something To Show You

Two sisters who loved Jesus, and served him faithfully, could not understand how he let their brother die. They were convinced if he had come before he died their brother would have lived. What they did not understand was that God even uses disappointment to reveal Himself.

As you go through your challenges, stay focused on the Lord. Though the circumstances may be disappointing, it may be the Lord’s manner of revealing Himself to you. It is a fact that God has something to show you.

Autumn Blessings: Ecclesiates 3:1

Luke 8:50. But when Jesus heard it, he answered him, saying, Fear not: believe only, and she shall be made whole.

Thought for the Day: Why Doubt When You Can Believe

Reflection for the Day: The Key Is Staying Focused On Jesus

A father who had just received word that his daughter had died was uncertain how to respond. His confusion comes from Jesus telling him that he was going to pray for his daughter. His confidence is now shattered. As doubt comes upon the man, Jesus immediately tells him not to fear but to believe. Jesus assures him that his daughter will be well; Jesus is committed to his victory.

The battle to believe, when the facts point to defeat, is a challenging one. The key is staying focused on Jesus. That which the Lord has stated will come to pass. No circumstances, nor the thoughts of others, can hinder the hand of God from fulfilling His Word. You need not doubt when you can believe.

Fear Not!

Genesis 32-9-11 And Jacob said, O God of my father Abraham, and God of my father Isaac, the Lord which saidst unto me, Return unto thy country, and to thy kindred, and I will deal well with thee: [10]. I am not worthy of the least of all the mercies, and of all the truth, which thou hast shewed unto thy servant; for with my staff I passed over this Jordan; and now I am become two bands. [11]. Deliver me, I pray thee, from the hand of my brother, from the hand of Esau: for I fear him, lest he will come and smite me, and the mother with the children.

Thought for the Day: God Does Not Need Your Help; He Does Require Your Obedience

Reflection for the Day: Faith Says Yes To His Will

Jacob was instructed by God that he was to return to Canaan. The Lord assured him that He would provide protection for him, from all that might seek to bring him harm. In spite of the Lord’s promise to protect, fear of his brother Esau remained. Because of his doubt, Jacob endeavored to help the Lord. He had not come to the realization that God did not need his help, he simply needed to obey.

It is not a common occurrence that even after hearing God’s commitment to bless, fear enters in. Unwisely, the next step is taking action to assist God. This tends to result in chaos. When God shares His intention to bless, remind yourself, He does not need your help, but He does require your obedience. Allow your faith to say yes to His will.

Let’s Be Consistent

Acts 2:42 And they continued stedfastly in the apostles’ doctrine and fellowship, and in breaking of bread, and in prayers.

Thought for the Day: What You Begin Today Continue Tomorrow

Reflection for the Day: Consistency Is Essential

The early church was a blessed church. The scriptures share that many souls were added, as well as countless miracles taking place. At the core of   the success was their consistent connection with their God. Their actions were not occasional but were ongoing.  Their consistency brought great results.

How often have you made a commitment to strengthen your relationship with the Lord only to have it last a day or two?  As the early church continued steadfastly in the things of God, do likewise. Your consistent behavior will result in blessed results.  Consistency is essential.

Morning Reflections: Your Time With Jesus Makes The Difference

Acts 4:13. Now when they saw the boldness of Peter and John, and perceived that they were unlearned and ignorant men, they marvelled; and they took knowledge of them, that they had been with Jesus.

Thought for the Day: Your Time With Jesus Will Make The Difference

Reflection for the Day: Spend Time With The Lord; Boldness And Power Will Follow

The power that was demonstrated by the early church caused the leaders of the Temple to respond.  Endeavoring to stop them from teaching in the Name of Jesus, they placed Peter and John into prison. Though they strongly fought against them, they marveled at their boldness. They noted that though these were untrained men, they had been with Jesus. Their time with the Lord made the difference.

Some of the followers of the Lord have a rich biblical background, while others do not. There are advantages of being a student of the Word of God. It provides a knowledge of God that cannot be found elsewhere. As important as the academic knowledge can be, it is the time you spend with Jesus that makes the difference.  Insist on quality time with the Lord, boldness and power will follow.
