Genesis 32-9-11 And Jacob said, O God of my father Abraham, and God of my father Isaac, the Lord which saidst unto me, Return unto thy country, and to thy kindred, and I will deal well with thee: [10]. I am not worthy of the least of all the mercies, and of all the truth, which thou hast shewed unto thy servant; for with my staff I passed over this Jordan; and now I am become two bands. [11]. Deliver me, I pray thee, from the hand of my brother, from the hand of Esau: for I fear him, lest he will come and smite me, and the mother with the children.

Thought for the Day: God Does Not Need Your Help; He Does Require Your Obedience

Reflection for the Day: Faith Says Yes To His Will

Jacob was instructed by God that he was to return to Canaan. The Lord assured him that He would provide protection for him, from all that might seek to bring him harm. In spite of the Lord’s promise to protect, fear of his brother Esau remained. Because of his doubt, Jacob endeavored to help the Lord. He had not come to the realization that God did not need his help, he simply needed to obey. 

It is not a common occurrence that even after hearing God’s commitment to bless, fear enters in. Unwisely, the next step is taking action to assist God. This tends to result in chaos. When God shares His intention to bless, remind yourself, He does not need your help, but He does require your obedience. Allow your faith to say yes to His will.
