Reflection for the Day: Without Prayer You Will Fall

Jesus, prior to his betrayal, went into the Garden of Gethsemane to pray. He knew that he had to wrestle with his flesh that he might accept what was before him. Jesus brought Peter, James, and John with him that they also might pray. He knew though their spirit was saying yes their flesh was weak. Without prayer they would fall victim to the temptation that was about to come.

Understanding the frailty of flesh is essential for every believer. Although your spirit desires to obey the Lord, your flesh is going to resist. Satan, knowing the area of weakness in your life, will attack you where you are most vulnerable.  Regardless of the method he utilizes your defense must be prayer. Without it you will fall.
